Targa became the first Champion Heartlet, finishing her AKC championship on Jim's birthday in 2007! She is the dam of our Top Litter, a singleton named Bogey.

In early October 2008, Targa passed her first tracking test (in only 6 minutes!) to earn her TD and become an ABTC Versatile Tervuren. She finished her CD on Saturday 3/7/09 at the GLBTC specialty, then moved up and earned her first CDX leg with a first place!

Agility was long her favorite activity. Jim began as her handler but mobility issues forced him to turn the leash over to Sue. Targa definitely had her own ideas about how to run courses sometimes, but she had wonderful successes too. She finished her USDAA ADCH in only 9 weekends of trialing.

2013 was a banner year for Targa in agility. She won the High Combined Agility award at the ABTC National Specialty, and then finished her MACH in late December!

She discovered Barn Hunt in spring of 2015 and did quite well, earning her Senior level RATS title in Nov '16. Her true calling was found late in life when she became an absolute rock star in Nosework, wowing all those who watched her.

Alas, just 10 days before her first Nosework trial, we lost her due to incontrollable seizures, likely due to a brain mass that had started occasional seizures when she turned 12. She didn't get a chance to title in the sport she owned, but those who knew her know she would have crushed it.

She leaves behind a host of memories, of a constant smile and wagging tail, and the intense desire to give kisses (as well as stealing Jim's beer and mead whenever she could). She was sometimes silly, sometimes infuriating, but always gave it her all - just like her name - From the Heart.
