Flame lived here with us, having been the early pick of several experienced dog people coming to see the litter as babies. I wasn't sure, wondering if Orange or Yellow might be who I wanted. When she was 7 weeks old though, she picked up a stick and trotted around the yard, head held high, sure that she was the coolest dog on earth - just as her grandma Raja had done so many years ago on the Oregon beach as a 10 week old. I knew who my girl was, and she has reminded me of Raja ever since! |

Flame damaged the growth plate of her hip with a slip on ice as a puppy. She developed avascular necrosis of the femoral head and required a total hip replacement at 13 months of age. She made a complete recovery but then wore out that prosthesis in 2014 & had it removed, then required amputation of that leg in 2016. Didn't slow her down tho! Herding started at 6 weeks on ducks, and she earned her HC in Sept 2011. Tracking came very easily to her as well - she earned her TDX on a gorgeous 15 minute track in May 2009. |

Agility was a blast, as she had incredible speed & responsiveness, but not much patience for my handling errors! She earned many titles over the years. Her MACH came in July 2011 and her MAD in September 2012. She even finished her MACH2 with one hip! She was a joy to train and trial in all venues - a happy, driven worker who took on all challenges and asked for more to do. And when she was done, she was a major-league cuddle-pup! |

Flame is the dam of our Fire litter, born 3/13/09, our Light Litter on 1/16/11, & the Baseball Litter on 8/18/11. She took them for a ride in finishing her MACH on 7/23/11! She was a terrific mom for all her babies. At nearly age 11 she discovered Barn Hunt and found her calling! She finished her RATCH as a tripawd & ended her career as a RATCHX6 CZ8PS, one of the top Tervuren in the US. |

She was also a natural at Nosework, with NW1 in March '17 & NW2 in October '17, as well as multiple UKC and AKC titles. She loved playing that game! Though she looked years younger than she was, time and kidney failure finally brought her journey to an end at a little over 14 1/2 years. I don't think there will ever be a dog with more heart than this little Hearts on Fire girl. Her Flame is lighting up the heavens now. |
